# NEDMIL — Next-Generation Decision Making International Lab > A global academic research consortium of 21 scholars and practitioners across six continents, advancing decision science, operations research, and applied AI — with active work in prescriptive analytics, digital twins & Industry 4.0, and AI for sustainability (including marine corrosion monitoring). NEDMIL is not a single institution but a collaborative network. Members represent leading universities and institutes across South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, working across three research pillars and 8 named projects. ## Research Pillars - **AI-Powered Prescriptive Analytics & Decision Intelligence** (AI · OR) — Building AI- and optimization-driven frameworks to support real-time strategic, tactical, and operational choices. - **Digital Twins & Industry 4.0 Optimization** (DT · I4.0) — Using IoT data, digital twins, and simulation-optimization to enhance resilience and efficiency in Industry 4.0 ecosystems. - **Applied AI for Sustainability & Societal Systems** (SUS · AI) — Applying AI and decision analytics to design resilient systems in energy, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure. ## Members 21 members.
